Florida International University (FIU), located at the Atlantis coast in the global city of Miami, is the second-largest university in the State of Florida, USA. It has about 50.000 students, 3800 of which are international students from 145 countries. Various world-class researches have been carried out on this campus, including innovations in the field of cyberinfrastuctures and medical technology. After giving a presentation at the International Conference of Biological and Agricultural Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia (FST-UAI), Hidayat Yorianta Sasaerila, Ph.D. visited Prof. K. Jaychandra, Director and Co-founder of the Department of Agroecology, FIU, at Modesto-Maidique Campus, Miami. Besides meeting with Prof. K. Jaychandra, Dean Hidayat also meet with Dr. K Rockwell at the same Department. Discussions were focused on the collaboration between the Department of Agroecology and FST-UAI. Various opportunities were explored including co-authorship an joint research. FST-UAI is planning to open a graduate program on Environmental Sciences. A discussion on this aspect was also done.
